“Let’s talk about the elephant in the room”
# What is the Peer Support Centre?
PSC is a service offered on campus in which McGill students can confide in a trained peer supporter. Stressed? Lonely? Feeling down? PSC is there to listen.

# The story
PSC approached me in need of vector graphics for promotional tshirts. They lacked a vector version of their preexisting logo, which was simple enough to do, but they also asked for a fun little design that incorporated their mascot, the elephant.

# The Design
My first thoughts turned to desiging an oragami elephant like the ones they have displayed in their offices (pictured above), but early into the drafting process I saw an opportunity I couldn’t pass up:
Written in the same font (Moon Flower) as the text in their logo, the word “PEER” in PEER SUPPORT CENTRE actually resembles an elephant! As a lover of wordplay, I knew I had to make this work.
The thumbnails below should give you an idea of the thought process that followed.

I ended up modifying the head of the elephant as a nod to PSC’s logo, so it’s not only the “P” in Peer, but also two quote bubbles embedded within one another.
